A teenage answer to prayer! March 10, 2010

I bought this alarm/wake up light with high hopes for my teenage daughter. She has never been one of life's "cheerful and just happy to be alive" type of people first thing in the morning. Now in her mid teens she had managed to make mornings for the whole family an extremely unpleasant time for us all. Her verbal response and behaviour towards us had become absolutely unbearable and we all left the house feeling very stressed and unhappy every single day.
When I read about this alarm/light I thought that anything was worth a go, as every other effort/incentive/encouragement and consequence for her behaviour had been tried and absolutely nothing had worked. When I gave this alarm/light to her and she tried it out she was really pleased with it. Over the last few weeks, we have all noticed that this lamp/alarm really has had a positive impact on her morning grumpiness. Although she doesn't jump out of bed instantly, singing tunes from the sound of music, she now manages to do so without the duvet flying, the verbal hostility and world war III breaking out each day. I have tried not to make an issue about it as the results really have spoken for themselves. Our home is now a much more peaceful and harmonious place to be in the mornings.
The wake-up light/alarm has therefore been worth its weight in gold (which at the price it IS just about its weight in gold). I would therefore recommend this product to anyone who struggles with waking up/getting up in the mornings or is like a bear with a sore head. If you sleep or live with someone like that, I would say buy it for the sake of sanity and peace.
Although I would highly recommend this alarm/light, the only reason I give it 4 stars, is that it is a shame it is so expensive as this may dissuade or prevent some people from buying it.....I hope that it doesn't.

I won't repeat what others have said other than to reiterate that the price is simply unbelievably CRAZY! Similar to some people I also paid the lower/half price and even based on that tag it seems overpriced. After all it is just a plain FM radio and a plain bright light wrapped in a bit of made-in-China pretty plastic. Whether it actually works or not is clearly going to be a subjective issue and therefore this gadget has to be tried and tested. If it does not perform to your expectations then use the 30-day money back guarantee to get a refund.

This is a nice little dawn simulator, though a little bit pricey now as you can now get dawn simulators for around 25 pounds.
Love the bird song wake-up alarm but don't like the ORANGE glow of the time display (I face the lamp the other way round as it glows so brightly in the dark).
On the whole, it's a good lamp that would be improved only with DAB and a less bright time clock.

Very happy with product, love waking up to the soft sounds and the gradual light, beats traditional alarm clocks hands down and it looks great too. Also brilliant as bed side table lamp.

This wake up light is brilliant, waking up to jungle noises with drums in the morning makes me laugh every time! I really feel the difference in the morning with waking up to natural light, it makes it so much easier to get out of bed when it's still dark outside.
