So useful July 3, 2010 hlmummy This thermometer has been invaluable since the arrival of our new baby. It has been great in the bedroom, especially during the summer, as it has given us an accurate temperature reading and kept us aware to make sure our little one doesn't get too hot. That fact that it can also be used in the bath means this is a must have item for anyone with a new baby. Getting the bath temp right for a newborn with your first child can be a problem until you get used to what the right temp feels like. This takes the risk out of the situation, helps to put your mind at ease. Just make sure that the water is mixed well so you don't just take the temp of a hot or cold spot. Looks pretty too.
decent thermometer June 6, 2010 P.S This is a fairly decent bath thermometer, and seems to give reasonably accurate readings. It can be used as a room or bath thermometer which we've found very useful. The drawbacks are that it does seem to take a little bit of time to display the right temperature, and it will often turn upside down when in the baby's bath, meaning that it'll start giving you the room temperature rather than the water temperature. I've found that it's best to place the thermometer in the water and then keep holding it whilst waiting for the correct temperature to be displayed. All in all it's a good thermometer without being amazing.
bath and room thermomenter April 2, 2010 M. salinas (uk) I removed this item from my wish list beacuse it's cheaper in Mamas and Papas...delivery included.
Great Product March 18, 2010 Mr. S. T. Cawley (UK) This is a great product - for room or bath temperature. Accurate and solid
Wrong readings! February 6, 2010 H. Kaim (Edinburgh) I have the same problem as one of the reviewers - thermometer gives wrong readings! It says the temperature of the bath is 35 degrees when it actually is around 38 (according to two other thermometers - bought them because I literally FELT there was something wrong going on there with those low readings when water was actually very warm) This means that haveing a 37 degrees bath according to my Philips/Avent thermometer equals really 40 degrees bath for the baby. Absurd! So mine landed on a bathroom shelf where it indicates we have roughly 17 degrees in the bathroom - and that is of course rubbish too. Think I should go right now and just bin it...
